More than
100
representatives
from almost
every union
in South
Australia
will gather
for the
state's
first ever
union
conference
on climate
change.
The event
will bring
together a
wide range
of industry
and
expertise -
nurses,
teachers,
firemen,
construction
workers,
public
servants,
local
government
workers,
forestry
workers and
other others
- to
collectively
consider
what workers
can do to
address the
challenge of
climate
change.
The
delegates
will hear
from
national and
state
climate
change
experts
about how
they can
make a
difference,
be it in
their own
workplaces,
their homes,
their
communities,
their state
and beyond.
The keynote
speaker is
Dr Ben
McNeil,
Senior
Fellow,
Climate
Change
Research
Centre,
University
of New South
Wales.
Dr McNeil
will speak
on the topic
of "The
Clean
Industrial
Revolution -
Growing
Australian
Prosperity
in a
Greenhouse
Age."

conference
is being
held on
Thursday 24
September at
the Ridley
Centre,
Wayville
Showgrounds,
a 5 star
rated green
building.
