ELECTION
VICTORY
24
March 2010
Labor's
election
victory
is a
good
result
for
working
families
in South
Australia,
securing
important
and hard
fought
industrial
rights.
SA
Unions
Secretary,
Janet
Giles
says
rather
than
being at
the
forefront
as in
recent
past
elections,
industrial
relations
played
an
undercurrent
role,
with
people
voting
for
jobs,
economic
security
and
social
progress
for all.
"This
has been
an
important
election
for
working
people,
as the
election
of a
Liberal
government
would
have
risked
the
reintroduction
of
WorkChoices
type
laws
that
strip
workers'
rights,
reduce
take
home pay
and
undermine
job
security."
"Now
it's
incumbent
upon the
state
government
to get
on with
the job
of
consolidating
our
economic
growth
and
delivering
the
improvements
in
services,
infrastructure,
employment
and
social
dividends
that the
Labor
Party
charter
and
platform
promises",
Ms Giles
says.
