UNIONS
TAKE THE
FIGHT
AGAINST
BUDGET
CUTS TO
ANOTHER
STATE MP
18
February 2011
Unionists
will
today
send a
delegation
to meet
with the
Member
for
Mitchell,
Alan
Sibbons
as part
of their
ongoing
campaign
against
the Rann
Government's
budget
of a
thousand
cuts.
SA
Unions
Secretary,
Janet
Giles
says
each and
every
member
of the
Labor
caucus
will
have to
answer
for the
Government's
attack
on
working
people,
their
entitlements
and
conditions.
"We want
every
elected
Member
to hear
first
hand
about
how this
government
has
fundamentally
betrayed
the
rights
of
working
people."
"Those
MP's who
are
former
unionists,
like Mr
Sibbons,
must
appreciate
how
appalling
it is
for a
government
to
simply
legislate
away the
negotiated
working
entitlements
of its
employees."
"The
Rann
Government
had
better
get used
to the
protests,
because
we're
not
giving
up until
the
unfair
budget
decisions
are
reversed."
The
delegation
is
meeting
with Mr
Sibbons
at 11 am
and will
include
unions
representing
fire
fighters,
ambulance
officers,
public
servants,
teachers
and
nurses.
