ACTU Education & Campaign Centre South Australia

The ACTU Education & Campaign Centre assists and supports unions with the implementation of unions@work.

Unions have to adapt to our hostile environment and the ACTU Organising Centre plays a major role in supporting unions in making the necessary changes. They do this by:

• cross union training for officials and union reps
• training courses for individual unions for officials and reps/activists
• working with individual unions to assist them in making structural and operational changes (facilitation of planning, workshops and meetings; design and facilitation of delegate conferences; consultancy to review and redesign delegate and activist education)

The Education & Campaign Centre has offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

The Adelaide Office is situated at SA UNIONS and is staffed by Kate Coleman and Jane Clarke. Kate and Jane will work closely with our organisation and South Australian unions to support key initiatives of the Council including the youth project and building union membership and activism in South Australia.

Health & Safety Representative Training

Health & Safety Representative Training - Program
The SA Unions in association with the ACTU Organising Centre is a provider of OH&S training and consultancy and EEO training.

Training can be arranged either in the Training Centre in South Terrace Adelaide or on-site. Training can be arranged at your convenience and can be adapted to the specific needs of your workplace.

Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare Training State Act
SA Unions deliver WorkCover approved OH&S Representative training and a range of other OH&S Training.

Courses available include:

• Level 1, 2 and Continuing OH&S Representative training
• Courses for Managers, Supervisors and Safety Coordinators
• Training for OH&S Committees
• Courses in Hazard Management Specific Hazards and OH&S Planning, Systems and Procedures.

Commonwealth Act
SA Unions/ACTU Organising Centre is the major provider in South Australia of training for OH&S Representatives in the Commonwealth Public Sector. SA Unions also offer other OH&S courses for this Sector.

• Comcare approved Basic OH&S
• Representatives Course
• Advanced Course for Representatives
• Training for Managers and Supervisors
• Courses for OH&S Committees
• Courses in Hazard Management, Specific

Consultancy Services
SA Unions can provide consultancy services to assist your organisation to develop appropriate OH&S strategies, systems and procedures and to solve OH&S problems in your workplace.
